This is hilarious! It may be true! I think so many people think this about analytical writing. I remember girls in high school english classes always complaining that they just had to make some connection between to aspects of a book out of thin air. I think one of the skills you develop later on is how to avoid the bullshit and really make genuine connections between different works.
I absolutely love Calvin and Hobbes and this comic is definitely worth more than 1000 words. It makes such a statement on how people have come to view academic writing.
